Introduction to Backflow Assemblies (2 CEUs)

ASHI/MD/OR/WA

Backflow prevention devices are common in residential and commercial plumbing systems, but many home inspectors have only a limited understanding of how they work or why they are installed. This course introduces the causes of backflow, common backflow prevention assemblies, and the basic principles inspectors should understand when encountering these systems in the field. You’ll leave with a stronger foundation for recognizing components, understanding their purpose, and answering questions more confidently.

Home Inspector Contracts (2 CEUs)

ASHI/MD/OR/WA

A strong inspection agreement does more than satisfy a business requirement—it helps define the inspection, establish expectations, and reduce misunderstandings before they become disputes. This course examines the key elements of home inspection contracts, common areas of risk, and the importance of clear scope, limitations, and client communication. Learn how a well-constructed agreement can become one of the most important risk-management tools in your inspection business.

Practical Guide to Handling Complaints (2 CEUs: ASHI/MD/OR/WA)

Handling a client complaint properly takes more than technical knowledge—it requires judgment, communication, documentation, and the ability to manage expectations when emotions are running high.

Drawing on Derik Pomaville’s experience in home inspections, insurance, executive management, sales, and sales management, this course provides a practical framework for responding to complaints professionally and protecting your business. You will learn how to investigate concerns objectively, communicate clearly, document effectively, and work toward fair resolutions. Real-world examples help show when a complaint is simply a communication issue and when it may involve greater business or liability concerns. The goal is to help inspectors respond with confidence and prevent manageable problems from becoming larger ones.

Three Courses. One Day. Training You Can Actually Use.

Join and expand your knowledge of backflow assemblies, strengthen your understanding of home inspector contracts, and learn proven strategies for handling client complaints professionally and effectively. Earn your CEUs. Strengthen your business. Become a better inspector.
